Our Clergy & Staff

The Reverend Jason S. S. Patterson, Rector

Fr. Patterson and his family (Sara & David) came to St. Mark’s in the Fall of 2011. Prior to coming to St. Mark's, Fr. Patterson planted a church in North Carolina. He is a graduate of Trinity College (B.A., Biblical Studies), Trinity Evangelical Divinity School (M.A.R., Systematic Theology), and Westminster Theological Seminary (D.Min, Homiletics). In addition to being the Rector of our parish, Fr. Patterson is also the Head of School for St. Mark’s Classical Academy, and the (rural) Dean of the Philadelphia Deanery of the Reformed Episcopal Church. Hobbies include fly-fishing, photography, bird watching, reading, gardening, and iconography.

The Reverend Matthew Maule, assistant Rector

Fr. Maule graduated from Patrick Henry College (B.A. Political Science) and the Reformed Episcopal Seminary (M.Div). He has been a part of this parish since 2014. Fr. Maule is a full-time teacher at our school, and leads numerous book clubs and fellowship groups. Beginning in the Fall of 2022, Fr. Maule will be assisting at St. Albans RE Church in New York City on most Sunday mornings.

The Reverend Benjamin Pearce, Deacon

Mr. Pearce is a graduate of Christopher New Port University (2018, B.A. Philosophy) and Westminster Theological Seminary (2023, M.Div.). Ben has been a teacher at our parochial school since Spring 2023 and is an active part of our Fellows Program. In addition to his work at St. Mark's, Ben is also an apprentice instructor in Hebrew at Westminster Theological Seminary.

abigael castor, Choirmaster

Miss Castor grew up in Chalfont, PA, and was home schooled according to the classical model. She attended the Peabody Conservatory in Baltimore, where she received her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in French Horn Performance. She also completed a minor in Early Music with a specialization in voice and recorders and a concentration in Medieval and Renaissance Studies. Among her favorite performances are singing in a staged production of Henry Purcell's opera, Dido and Aeneas, and in a full period-instrument performance of J.S. Bach's Johannes-Passion. Miss Castor is an active performer in the Philadelphia area and has taught privately for many years. She lives in Doylestown, PA, where she also enjoys hiking, gardening, reading, and discussing philosophy, art, and literature with friends and family.

Tom Lever, Organist

Mr. Lever studied organ with Andrew Senn, David Furniss, Joseph Jackson and Robert Rosenberger and he studied voice with Marvin Keenze. He is a member of AGO (American Guild of Organists) and has sung in church choirs since age 7. He has sung with Philadelphia Singers, Singing City, and Bucks County Choral Society, and in area choruses. Mr. Lever is a retired software engineer and holds a M.A. in Mathematics from Villanova University and a M.E. in Electrical Engineering from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute. In “retirement” he teaches college-level math at Arcadia University, Montgomery County Community College, and Bucks County Community College. He met his wife (Cathy) while singing and she often accompanies him when he is rehearsing for Sunday services, lending a helpful ear and feedback from the nave. Tom and Cathy live in Lansdale and their adult son lives in Charlottesville, VA.
