Committees

Committees help to Accomplish
the work of the parish

There are 2 committees (Finance & Property) that primarily serve by assisting the Vestry in fulfilling their duties. Other committees exist to assist the Rector in other areas of parish work and ministry.

Property Committee

St. Mark’s Church has been blessed with a property and facilities the purpose of which is to assist us in fulfilling our mission as a parish. The role of the Property Committee is to help the parish exercise good stewardship of her facilities and grounds as we strive together to accomplish our mission as a parish.

Finance Committee

The Finance Committee serves the parish by seeking to insure that the parish has the funds necessary to reach our ministry objectives. This committee is responsible to write an annual budget and to oversee parish financial resources. The finance committee presents a financial update to the Vestry each month, as well as a year end financial summary.

Nominations Committee

The Christian Education Committee assists the Rector in his calling to provide Christian catechesis to all of the adults and children in the parish. This committee helps in planning Sunday School curricula, the Adult Forum, as well as seminars and lectures throughout the year.

The role of the Missions Committee is to help the Rector educate the parish as to missions opportunities, and coordinate local mission & outreach. Committee members also serve as liaisons to local and international missions organizations.

This committee (“St. Mark’s Classical Academy Advisory Council”) assists the parish in growing our parish school by providing counsel to the Head of School and assisting in executing the parish’s strategic vision for our classical academy.

The Nominations Committee is responsible to prayerfully discern which parishioners they believe are called to serve on the Vestry during any given year. The Nominations Committee is comprised of the Rector, Wardens, a member of the Vestry, and others as appointed.

Pipe Organ Strategic Planning Committee

This committee is working to develop a plan for the long term maintenance of our wonderful pipe organ, as well the implementation of a short-term strategy to address needed improvements.
